We offer free delivery on all orders over £10 shipped in the UK. Orders under £10 will be charged £2.99. Your goods will be dispatched within 3-5 working days of receiving your order. With bike orders this may well be up to 7 working days as all bikes need to go through our busy workshops for their own pre-delivery inspection to comply with manufacturers warranty terms and conditions. All our orders are generally sent via Royal Mail. Please note that to comply with Trek and Electra warranty, we cannot deliver Trek/ Electra bikes - they are collection only.
Bikes will be shipped free of charge to Mainland UK via a courier and after receiving your order dispatch email, your order will be shipped for next day delivery - unless you specify a date.
Any bikes being shipped to Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and other remote parts of the UK will be subject to a delivery charge.

We want you to be 100% satisfied with any product that you buy from us. If you are not 100% happy with your purchase, South Downs Bikes will give you a full refund. If you wish to return an item purchased from us, you should do this within 14 working days (in the Christmas period, by the 31st January). Initially please contact us by email or letter to let us know you are returning the goods and why. However returned goods must be unused, in a saleable condition and in their original packaging with all labels etc still attached.
All goods that we sell are covered by normal warranty. Most items have a warranty provided by their respective manufacturer BUT this warranty must be carried out by us. If you feel that you have an item which is faulty, please return it to us with a copy of your original proof of purchase. If it is found to be a genuine fault of manufacture we will of course repair or replace it free of charge and return it to you with no postage charges.
However, if the item is found not to have a genuine fault covered by it's warranty we will contact you straight away to tell you of this. If you subsequently require the product to be returned back to you, we will have to make a charge for carriage. Unfortunately we cannot refund actual expense ie postage and packing and you will be charged for postage on any replacement items we send out where the original mistake was not ours.
For more specific items such as padded shorts that require no clothing to be worn during the use of the product we are not obliged to offer any refund unless the item is damaged. If we believe the product to be worn upon return to us we will not issue a refund due to hygiene and customer safety concerns. Please ensure you buy the correct size or try our products on with acceptable clothing underneath before making your purchase or return decision.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT AND YOUR FULL CONTACT DETAILS ETC. ALL ITEMS RETURNED TO US MUST BE SENT VIA A METHOD THAT REQUIRES A SIGNATURE AT OUR END.
Returns over the Christmas period will be extended to 31 January.
Royal Mail’s procedure for lost items and incorrect deliveries is that we must wait 2 weeks before registering an item as lost. If your package goes missing and you would like us to send you a replacement within this 2-week period, we hope you understand that to prevent fraud, we will need to charge you for your item(s) again. If your package is subsequently officially declared as lost by Royal Mail, we will of course refund you for all lost item(s).
